Migrant Education

migrant-education-logoMigrant Education – Harvest of Hope

The federal Migrant Education Program (MEP) is authorized by Title 1-Part C of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Title 1-Part C provides formula grants to State Educational Agencies to establish or improve education programs for migrant children. MEP utilizes these grants to provide additional educational opportunities for migrant children in order for them to:

  • succeed in the general educational K-12 program,
  • meet the challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards, which is expected of all students, and
  • graduate from high school.
